How to enter an LCSD district age-group competition /
Hong Kong’s Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) runs district-based age-group competitions—often shortened to “DAGC” in English listings—for several racket sports. These are community tournaments organised by district sports offices: players enter the event for a named district and age band, then compete on schedules published in official notices. Tennis, badminton, and table tennis frequently appear on LCSD SmartPLAY; squash juniors in Hong Kong more often enter through Hong Kong Squash’s own calendar rather than LCSD district squash, though policies can change year to year. Always read the card on our list to see which organizer published the event.
What Sportverse does here / 本站的 role
We are a pointer, not SmartPLAY. Sportverse Competitions surfaces which district and sport combinations are currently listed as open on official sources, with dates, deadlines when available, and the same register URL the organizer published. We do not create LCSD accounts, process payments, or confirm enrolment. If an event is missing from our homepage, it may be closed by our display rules, not listed by the source yet, or simply a sport we do not ingest—check LCSD directly for a complete catalogue.
A typical player path /
- Find the competition on our live list and note district, age group, dates, and deadline.
- Read the organizer’s notice or programme page linked from the card.
- If LCSD requires it, sign in or create an account on SmartPLAY during the published enrolment window.
- Enrol in the named programme, pay or confirm as SmartPLAY instructs, and keep any receipt or reference.
- Wait for draw sheets, venue lists, or schedule updates from LCSD—not from Sportverse.
We deliberately avoid step-by-step screenshots of SmartPLAY menus because those screens change. When in doubt, follow the official LCSD page and SmartPLAY.
District and age group /
You enter the district event as published—Sha Tin, Eastern, Kwai Tsing, and so on—not automatically “the district nearest my home.” Age groups follow the notice (e.g. under-12, under-16). If your club sits on a border or you train in another district, the official eligibility rules on the LCSD document override any informal advice. Our list shows the district name in the title when the source provides it; we do not remap districts for convenience.
Deadlines vs event dates /
On Sportverse, an event stays in the default “open” view if the source deadline is today or later in Hong Kong time, or if there is no deadline and the event end date has not passed. After the deadline, we usually hide the card unless you enable “Closed 已截止.” That behaviour is explained in our open vs closed guide. The first day of competition may be weeks after enrolment closes—plan from both dates on the card.
What we never do / 我們絕不做的事
We do not hold quota, store screenshots of your SmartPLAY enrolment, or tell you a class is “full” based on this list. We do not partner with LCSD to reserve places. Register only through the organizer link— for LCSD district events that is typically SmartPLAY, matching the URL on each tennis, badminton, or table-tennis card when LCSD is the source.
Sportverse summarises public notices; we do not run these tournaments. Register on the organizer site.
